Tahoe Transportation District will resume limited service

Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) announced it will resume operations providing limited-service today, February 12, within the South Lake Tahoearea. Limited bus service will be available on routes 50, 55, and paratransit. Service remains suspended for the 19X and 22 routes.

Armed robbery reported early Saturday morning in Carson City

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in identifying suspects in an armed robbery that occurred just before 0400 hours on February 12, 2020.

Nevada Department of Corrections lifts mask requirement; visitation to resume Monday

In accordance with Gov. Steve Sisolak’s announcement Thursday to lift the statewide mask mandate, the Nevada Department of Corrections will no longer require masks for staff, offenders or visitors, effective immediately.

The Department will also resume visitation beginning Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, for all institutions except Ely State Prison, where there is a current COVID-19 outbreak.

Vehicle crash reported near Highway 50 W and Golf Club Drive

UPDATE 7:06 p.m.: NHP is shutting down traffic. Motorists should seek alternate routes.

A vehicle crash was reported just before 7 p.m. Friday night near Highway 50 W. and Golf Club Drive.

According to callers, one vehicle has spun out and another vehicle has struck it.

Over $119K donated to the Eddy House through Greater Nevada’s Keys to Greater program in 2021

Through the Greater Nevada Mortgage (GNM) Keys to Greater program, a portion of the revenue from every new mortgage or refinanced mortgage funded through GNM in 2021 was donated to the Eddy House. With the help of almost 2,000 mortgage clients, GNM contributed a total of $119,300 last year; this donation helped meet the needs of nearly 12,000 client visits to the Eddy House in 2021.

Sport Clips to open February in Carson City

Fishing Report: Ice safety is imperative; one fatality reported after fall through frozen reservoir

Hello fellow anglers. This weekend will be spring-like and everyone will be getting outside to fish and recreate.

We have had some tragedies in the local area. I hoped I would never have to report on it. People were walking and ice skating on Stampede Reservoir last week and fell through the ice. One did not survive.
