Carson City Sheriff's Office to host Winter 2022 Citizen Academy starting Feb. 16

The Carson City Sheriff's Office will be offering its Winter 2022 Citizen Academy this coming February.
This session will run 10 consecutive weeks from Wednesday, February 16th through Wednesday, April 20th. Classes will meet in the Ormsby Room located at 911 E Musser St.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying persons involved in a burglary at Pacific Gas located at 1479 U.S. Highway 395 Gardnerville, Nevada.
All other leads have been exhausted and we are seeking the public’s assistance at this time.

A new year brought the realization of a personal professional goal for former Western Nevada College student Evelyn Espinoza.
Evelyn, who studied business at WNC in 2019, and her husband, Francisco, opened Eve’s Eatery in downtown Carson City earlier this month.
Vehicle crash reported on Old Clear Creek and Vista Grande with injuries

Two vehicles are involved and are blocking traffic.
There is at least one injury reported with an individual bleeding from the head.
Motorists should use caution in the area or seek alternate routes.

Omicron cases are surging throughout the country, and unfortunately, Carson City is not immune to its reach. In the last five days, six additional individuals with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, bringing the total number to 32.
