William Gardner appointed to lead Nevada OSHA

Las Vegas, NV- Division of Industrial Relations Administrator Victoria Carreón has appointed William Gardner as Chief Administrative Officer of the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) effective July 19, 2021. He will be responsible for leading the state’s efforts to ensure safe and healthful working conditions by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.

A 24-year-old man died early Wednesday morning in a single vehicle rollover off of Goni Road in north Carson City.

UPDATE: A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief on scene reports the fire was knocked down at 9:15 a.m.
Motorists can expect delays. The cause is under investigation.

Tamarack fire update: Voluntary evacuations issued for Holbrook Junction, Leviathan Mine Road areas

Voluntary evacuations were issued Tuesday night for residents in Leviathan Mine Road and Holbrook Junction areas. Residents can go to Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, which is designated as an evacuation site, according to Douglas County officials. Emergency warnings have been sent to cell phones followed by emergency personnel warnings.

MINDEN — The evacuation location for large animal has changed from the Douglas County Fairgrounds to the Carson City Fairgrounds at Fuji Park in south Carson City.
