Nature and crafts blend together at Greenhouse Garden Art Fest in Carson City

Dozens of vendors sold different forms of art to capture the eyes of attendees while the lush greens, plants and flowers in the Greenhouse served as a comforting background.

Non-profit groups including the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Dayton Volunteer Fire Department, JOIN INC, Dayton Valley Dog Park and the Historical Society of Dayton teamed-up to promote wellness, services and career opportunities to the community.

Carson City man arrested for DUI, destruction of property and leaving the scene of an accident
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 08/10/2019 - 9:54amA 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2400 block of Silver Sage Drive early Saturday morning on five charges including DUI second and leaving the scene of an accident.
The man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the location on report of an accident with unknown injuries. Dispatch advised the vehicle left the scene after knowing down a resident’s fence

Carson City Sheriff's Office engages in police chase Saturday morning
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 08/10/2019 - 9:40amUPDATE 10:03 a.m.: Deputies have one in custody after the chase led to a Colorado Street storage facility. According to deputies, while they were in pursuit, the driver of the vehicle pulled up to the gate, entered in the code, and pulled in. Deputies followed the vehicle in the storage facility. The vehicle then rammed another vehicle; whether it was a deputies’ vehicle is unclear at this time.
The suspect was taken into custody and is being transferred to the Carson City Jail. They remain uncooperative, according to deputies.
