A flood watch is in effect for the Carson City area through Saturday as steady rain is forecast to move into the region today and turning to showers Sunday, the National Weather Service in Reno reports.

Buhl charged with murder in death of Carson City toddler

The Carson City Sheriff's Office and Carson City Fire-Paramedics responded on March 17, 2017 to a medical emergency at the 100 block of Manzanita Terrace where caregiver 26 year-old Eric Anthony Buhl reported he was giving CPR to two year-old Coahuyana Hernandez.
Hernandez was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. As a result of the immediate investigation, Mr. Buhl was arrested when a search of the residence disclosed explosive devices (later disarmed by the Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad). Mr. Buhl has remained in custody since the March 17 incident.

May 20, 2017 - 10:00am The Carson City Sheriff's Office invites the community to participate in the 14th annual Cops & Kids Safe Streets Party on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in at 911 E. Musser Street.
There is an open house of the Sheriff's office, free child ID kids, games, demonstrations and more.
Admission is free.

This team will be headed to Bath, UK in June to compete in an International Championship. One hundred percent of the proceeds will assist the team with travel costs.
