Several weak systems will begin to move through the Sierra and Carson City region from midweek onward, bringing continued below normal temperatures, periods of snow and travel difficulties, according to the National Weather Service.

It was a wet and chilly Thursday morning outside the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City on Thanksgiving Day for the 526 runners who participated in the 2023 Carson City Turkey Trot. Runners participated in the 5k, 8k, and 1 mile Fun Run.

After taking a break from burning during the week of Thanksgiving, Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team members are scheduled to resume prescribed fire operations this week at Lake Tahoe, conditions and weather permitting. Smoke from these operations may be present throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin.
