If you find yourself in Gardnerville, the First Annual Summer Splendor Showcase and Expo features vendors galore.

Carson City Citizen's Climate Lobby Training and Orientation

Sierra Nevada Forums is presenting ‘Lions and Tracking and Bears, OH MY’ about the incredible animals in our foothills. ‘A Short History of Virginia City’ is to be found at the Nevada State Museum, followed by a book signing by Authors Ron and Susan James.

CASA Volunteer Training Begins

CASA of Carson City will hold the first class in a 10 week CASA volunteer training, Jan. 22 6-9pm, at the CASA of Carson City office, 1539 E. 5th Street.

CASA volunteers are appointed by the Carson City Juvenile Court to serve as guardian ad litem for a case of abused or neglected children in a child welfare court case. Being a CASA volunteer requires patience, caring, research, writing, speaking and follow-through. A background check, references, application, interview and 30 hours of training are required. CASA volunteers make a difference for very vulnerable children.

RSVP Volunteer Training set for Friday at Cooperative Extension in Carson City

RSVP volunteers, persons caring for a loved one 24/7, and other interested parties are encouraged to join us for this free training.

Make friends, learn history at Nevada State Museum tour guide training

With Nevada’s 150th birthday celebration about to kick off, the Nevada State Museum in Carson City is offering interested volunteers a chance to make friends, learn history and become part of the party.

Tour guide training begins at the museum Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.
No experience is necessary but volunteers are asked to be available at least four hours per month and bring curiosity and enthusiasm for Nevada’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

CASA OF CARSON CITY will begin a CASA volunteer training January 30, 5:30 to 8:30 at the Carson City Juvenile Court, 1545 E. 5th St.. Anyone is welcome to attend the first of the ten training sessions to learn more about CASA.

ComputerCorps Celebrates Grand Opening

After expanding to Reno and six months of planning, ComputerCorps of Carson City celebrates the official opening of its newly refurbished 40,000-square-foot facility at 550 Mallory Way , next to the Nevada Appeal offices. In its new headquarters, ComputerCorps will house a Donation and Recycling Center , an Outlet Store and Service Center , and a Volunteer and Training Center .

CASA Volunteer Training Begins

CASA of Carson City will begin a training of CASA volunteers on May 10, 6-9pm, at the Carson City Juvenile Court, 1545 E. 5th St. in Carson City.

CASA volunteers are appointed by Carson City's Juvenile Court as guardian ad litem for children in child welfare court cases.

The CASA volunteer speaks up for the best interests of the child.

Being a CASA volunteer requires patience, caring, research, writing, good communication skills and a commitment.

There is a background check, an interview and 30 total hours of training.

CASA of Carson City will be starting a new round of training for CASA Volunteers. If you are interested in the CASA program, please join us at 6pm for the first session.

CASA of Carson City will be holding an information hour Aug. 26th at the Carson City Juvenile Court, corner of Saliman and 5th Streets--1545 E. 5th St.-- 5pm-6pm.

Being a child advocate takes time, caring, patience, research, writing and good communication skills. Being a child advocate is rewardin...g and makes a difference for the most vulnerable children.

We do an interview and a background check.
