With a recent sanitation fogger obtained by the Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City Cinema Club will show its first film of the year, the1953 classic “Mogambo” this Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 West King Street.

So, who knows it all? Western Nevada College aims to find out Thursday, Dec. 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Virtual Team Trivia Night — a special no-brainer holiday-themed challenge that can be entered from the comfort of your own living room.

Heading into Thursday, happenings lined up include a monthly meeting of the Carson City Native and Newcomers, a preserving history workshop through the Nevada State Archives, trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, an introduction into improv comedy at the Brewery Arts Center, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike and more. Events lined up feature morning and evening walks hosted by Muscle Powered, Carson City TRIAD will give a presentation at the senior center on scams targeting older adults. Heading into the backend of the work week, events lined up Thursday include day 1 of the 7th annual International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center, a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a free information session on the legal and financial aspects of long-term care hosted by Carson Tahoe Care Center, the Carson City GOP will host a meeting to discuss precinct organization, plus trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike and a lecture on women’s suffrage movement history in Nevada. Be it classic films or current local films, the club, also known as C5, is committed to bringing Carson City movie entertainment. Its regular schedule of classic films is shown on the first Tuesday of every month at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street.

Friday Sept. 13, no bad luck on this day, beginning at 1:18 p.m. was an assembly in the Big Gym during the last class of the day as an introduction to CHS’ Happiest Homecoming on Earth. Leadership students led the assembly with the first activity being the introduction of the Homecoming King and Queen candidates who made their grand entrance onto the floor.

Heading into Tuesday Aug. 6, which means the safest family celebration of the year at the 17th annual Carson City National Night Out. This is an event like no other, where agencies who work in areas of public health and safety gather at Mills Park to meet with Carson City residents. This event features 3 hours of information booths, games, demonstrations, food and fun. Also happening Tuesday is a free robotics mini-camp for kids in nearby Silver City, Reciprocity Inc. will host a fundraiser at Rustically Divine, there's the Culinary Traveler’s Club's Polynesian Paradise featured at Bleu Café; the Carson City Classic Cinema Club will feature a Sci-Fi favorite at the BAC, plus fitness outings and more.
