CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation is reminding community members that political signage is not allowed on state highway property.

Traffic accident reported on Fairview and Carson Streets Friday afternoon

A traffic accident was reported just before 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview and Carson Streets.

Traffic is currently blocked by the two-vehicle crash within a construction zone, and one driver is complaining of neck pain.

First responders are enroute.

Motorists should seek alternate routes or use caution in the area.

Trailer flip in Washoe Valley causing major traffic back up on freeway

A vehicle towing a trailer has flipped in south Washoe Valley in the Northbound lanes on I-580 which is causing a major back up of traffic along the freeway in Carson City.

NHP and first responders are on scene.

Motorists should seek alternate routes.

Carson City deputies make drug, warrant arrests

A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 2500 block of Kit Sierra for parole and probation violation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

According to the report, Lindsie Newman was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies after they learned that Newman, a parolee absconder, was staying at a residence on Kit Sierra Way.
