A Carson Now reader who didn't include their name sent us this photo Monday with a caption that read "snowshoeing from Spooner to Marlette Lake." As you can see by the photo, there's still a lot of snow at the lake that sits above Carson City.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office and search and rescue are looking for a man who became lost Sunday in the upper Kingsbury Grade area of Lake Tahoe while snowshoeing.

Let's hear it for the first weekend of the new year, because it won't happen again for another 12 months.

The first weekend of 2019 also means the first Saturday of the month, which is the day of the Downtown Business Association Monthly Wine Walk in downtown Carson City, come rain, snow, wind or shine.

That's a good thing, too, because this weekend will likely have all of that.

There are only two more Saturdays until Christmas, and Santa Claus is back in Carson City again this weekend ahead of the big holiday.
