There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

She has assembled a group of fellow musicians for an evening of intimate, lively entertainment at Valley View Ranch in Gardnerville to raise much-needed funds for non-profit Pine Nut Wild Horse Advocates (PNWHA).

The Sophie & Fiachra Trio are a group of “musiciens sans frontieres' who refuse to let the Atlantic sunder their love of their own and one another’s Irish and Québecois musical traditions.”
The show begins at 7 p.m. Go here for tickets.
Comprising of Irish uilleann piper Fiachra O’Regan, Québec fiddler/singer Sophie Lavoie, and guitarist André Marchand, the trio take traditional Irish and Québécois traditional music, blended with Lavoie’s “lithe and masterful” compositions. Daryl Dragon, half of pop duo 'Captain and Tennille' and former Washoe Valley resident dies

He was 76.
