Carson High School's NJROTC cadets surprised their instructors James Ingram and Daniel Meyer when, two weeks before the end of the semester, they voted to adopt five families for the holidays.

We started out the school year with some amazing recruitment efforts on the part of the few returning underclassmen we had recommit to compete this year.
With our school’s annual overnight trip to Rock Creek and the first weeks of school, few competitors felt confident enough with the practice time put in to be able to successfully compete at the first tournament but we did have a small team of three ready and anxious to present to pieces for judgement.

“Dirty Diapers/Rabbit Ears” is opening Wednesday, Nov. 30 in Carson City and the exhibit will be shown through Friday, Feb. 3.

New WNC business degree designed for university transfer

For the first time, WNC will offer an Associate of Business Degree that is built for students to earn a two-year Associate Degree in Business and then transfer directly to a university, toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
At a tuition cost that is far below that of a university, WNC students will save money and learn in smaller classes with a personalized approach, before they transition to a university.
WNC enters partnership with Nevada State High School online program

High School juniors and seniors living in Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe counties can earn college credits at no cost through Nevada State High School, while they finish high school. They may also receive support with textbooks, transportation, and class expenses.

Senator Square: Carson High School prepares for 2016 graduation
Submitted by editor on Sat, 05/28/2016 - 11:29pmGraduation for the class of 2016 is Saturday, June 4, and the ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on the Carson High School football field in Carson City.
One last photo opportunity will happen the morning of graduation. This is the photo of everyone together wearing caps and gowns. The 2016 senior class photo will be taken in the gym, so all seniors must arrive at the school, and meet in the gym by 8:45 a.m.

CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, June 3, 5-7pm and the artists will give brief talks about their work at 5:30pm. The show will be open to the public Monday – Friday, 8am -5pm from June 3 – September 29, 2016. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free.

The Carson High School Orchestra and Concert Band will deliver “A Night with the Classics” at their annual spring concert on May 18, and CHS Theatre Arts presents The Taming of the Shrew (in the old west) on May 26.
WNC to Feature Renowned Climate Scientist Charles Goldman for Earth Day lecture

The event is sponsored by the Western Nevada College Foundation. It will be held Friday, April 22, 7 pm at Marlette Hall at the Carson City campus.
Charles R. Goldman is a Distinguished Professor of Limnology Emeritus Department of Environmental Science and Policy UCD President, World Water and Climate Foundation who is known around the world.
