November 10, 2012 - 10:00am Sponsored by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Carson High School PTSA, the Safe & Sober 5k is organized by volunteers of the Safe Grad committee. This year’s 5k Race/Walk will be held on November 10th, 2012 at 10AM and will be held at the Carson High School track facility. The Carson High Safe Grad program has been an annual tradition in Carson City for over 20 years. It provides our graduating seniors with a safe and sober, all night celebration on the eve of their graduation, followed by a trip to the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom amusement park in northern California.

April 14, 2012 (All day) The Carson High School Safe Grad Committee is hosting it's second annual Safe Grad 5K Walk-Run to raise funds for this year's and future Safe Grad Celebration for graduating seniors. It will take place this Saturday, April 14th starting just behind the Firkin and Fox. Pre-registration through Friday, April 13th with forms available @ the CarsonSafeGrad12 Facebook page ($30,drop forms @ Dennis Brinson's Allstate Insurance:Curry & William St.) and Race day registration beginning @ 8:00 a.m. ($35). Students (w/id) register for only $20! Come out and support this important community event.

April 21, 2012 - 10:00am The Carson City Emblem Club #507 is sponsoring their annual Second Hand Lil sale on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Carson City Elks Lodge.
Come by and purchase a prom dress, evening wear, business attire, shoes, jewelry and more. These items are gently used, high quality clothing. The proceeds will be added to our Charitable Funds to help our community. Recently we have donated to Douglas and Carson City High Schools Safe Grad Nites and Camp TLC for hearing impaired children. There will be a light lunch of tea sandwiches available for $5.

March 17, 2012 - 5:00pm The Carson City Emblem Club #507 and the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 are sponsoring St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Elks State President Jim Smolenski's Homecoming on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Elks Lodge. Tickets on sale $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Corned Beef & Cabbage with all the trimmings. Cocktails 5:00 pm and Dinner at 6:30 pm.
Safe and Sober Grad 5K Run
Submitted by editor on Sat, 04/02/2011 - 1:36amThe Carson High School Graduation Committee will hold the the Safe and Sober 5K on Saturday, April 9 beginning at 8 a.m., in downtown Carson City at 3rd and Curry Street behind The Firkin & Fox.
The event is sponsored by Kaia Fit. Money raised from the run will be used to provide the Carson High School class of 2011 seniors with an all-night party and a day trip to Discovery Kingdom.
