Legendary rock band “War” will headline this summer’s Concert Under the Stars taking place Tuesday, July 9 outdoors behind Café at Adele’s. The annual event benefits Carson City’s Greenhouse Project. The gates open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 6:30 p.m.

In a career that has spanned more than four decades War has sold more than 50 million albums. The band’s unique mix of Funk, Jazz, R&B and Rock and Roll has produced numerous top ten singles including “Low Rider”, “Cisco Kid”, “Why Can’t We be Friends” and many more.

Reggae fans are in for a rare treat. European Roots Reggae artist Martin Zobel and his band Soulrise will perform at Carson City’s Club Envy on Friday September 28th. Born and raised in Germany, Zobel is a popular and integral part of the European Reggae scene. His latest album, Land of the Free, is the result of a month long collaboration with Reggae legend Fully Fullwood. The album went straight to the top of the German Reggae charts. It was just released in the United States and now Zobel and his band Soulrise are embarking on their first US tour.

The Brewery Arts Center Stage Kids presents the captivating musical 'Bye Bye Birdie' which tells the story of a rock and roll singer about to be inducted into the army. The performance features great music, imagination and lots of fun. It will feature more than 40 talented local children. Hundreds of car enthusiasts from Nevada and California made their way to Mills Park in Carson City today for the annual Carson City Silver Dollar Car Classic.
The car show, which continues through Sunday, is among the region's biggest draws, with more than 300 restored, tricked-out, and souped-up cars and trucks on display.
Saturday's ideal weather conditions and the tree coverage of Mills Park made it a great event for the entire family, organizers said.
