I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Nov. 4 - 5
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 11/03/2017 - 6:49pmWelcome to the weekend, Carson City. Now that we are in November, thoughts turn to the holiday season. That means craft fairs. St. Paul’s Lutheran Family on Saliman welcomes you to their annual Craftique Open House. You’ll find the Young at Heart Seniors Club hosting a faire at the Douglas County Community Center. The Carson Nugget’s Sierra Room will be home to several artisans, vendors, and crafters during today’s wine walk. There’s quite a bit more, and plenty that doesn’t involve shopping, so take a look and have a great time.

John Bullis column: Thoughts on Proposed Tax Law Changes
Submitted by editor on Tue, 10/24/2017 - 9:00amWill Congress change the tax laws? When will they send the proposed changes to the President? Will he sign it and have the laws changed? I don’t know, but perhaps you should not ‘hold your breath’ waiting for it to happen. Of course the tax laws are too complicated and it is too expensive to prepare the returns.

I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Sept. 9 – 10
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 09/08/2017 - 7:26pmI’m going to suggest that you keep this weekend’s plans flexible. There’s only a chance of rain, but the chance of it showing up at the wrong time is always high. The very early morning is best spent watching the hot air balloons against the Reno skyline, but you’ll probably want a sweater for the pre-dawn chill. Head up the hill to Virginia City this weekend. If you’ve never been to the annual International Camel Races, you’ve been missing out. Keep reading, there’s something for everyone on this list. Find your fun.

All Roads Lead To Israel/Jerusalem
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 04/21/2017 - 12:59pmWestern minds, Western eyes, and Western culture have difficulty accepting or even understanding what is happening to Israel today, especially with its Islamic neighbors. The utter significance of this piece of real estate seems remote and of little concern to so many. Even those who consider themselves "up to speed" with the news often neglect to read, digest, and think about the ancient history of this region of the world. Perhaps the most required reading material is that of the Bible, the world's most read book of all times. We can read from as many books, etc.
