GARDNERVILLE — The 8th annual charity golf tournament weekend “For the Kids” hosted by Mike Tice, former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings and more recently offensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders, will take place June 15-17.

The Carson City Senior Center collected more than 550 gifts from area residents and businesses for homebound seniors this year. The Carson City Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program delivers almost 300 meals to homebound seniors daily. In the past year, the Center has provided over 79,500 hot meals.

After 38-30 victory over Hug, the Carson Senators returned to Tom Andreasen court Tuesday night ending in a tough 54-52 loss to Reed, putting them at 1-1 in conference play.

Sunday is usually synonymous with football this time of year. The Carson City Raiders Booster Club will hold its annual Christmas Commitment fundraiser Sunday, Nov. 19, from 12:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the 11th Frame Lounge, inside Carson Lanes, 4600 Snyder Ave. in Carson City.

The club is accepting new members at this time. Membership cost is $30 for single membership; $40 family or $50 family with two votes on club business.

Mike Tice, offensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders football team brought his A-game to his 7th annual charity golf tournament weekend in June featuring the entire Raiders coaching staff, including head coach Jack Del Rio and a spate of former NFL players from around the country. The event doubled its take this year, including a match from Carson Valley Inn owner, Mike Pegram to over $300,000.

The Carson City Raiders Booster Club will hold its annual Picnic and Membership Drive Saturday, July 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dayton State Park in the covered public-use area. The club welcomes all Raiders fans, as well as those who are not.
