Pastor Tim Plummer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Missionary Area Director, has once again brought Christmas trees to Carson City to support FCA. Christmas is fast approaching, and most agree it is the best time of the year. The holidays can be a difficult time for many, but it does not have to be this way.

Carson High School's NJROTC Drill and Color Guard team competed in their first ever ‘virtual’ drill competition hosted by University of North Carolina ROTC program. The various teams’ performances were captured on video and sent to the University for judging.

Coldwell Banker Select real estate agents serving Northern Nevada delivered 435.8 pounds of pet food to Friends in Service Helping, or FISH, a Carson City-based social services organization and pet food provider site for Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will get underway at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, for Carson City Mayor and native Nevadan Robert “Bob” Crowell.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, by executive order, Governor Steve Sisolak ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and State public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, October 29, 2020 as a mark of solemn respect and in remembrance of Carson City Mayor and native Nevadan Robert “Bob” Crowell, whose memorial is being held Thursday.

For Sierra Nevada Realtors, election season is over. The association, whose members serve rural Northern Nevada areas including Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, Dayton and Fallon, recently held elections for its 2021 Board of Directors.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The Nevada State Railroad Museum is holding train rides dedicated toward women’s suffrage on Saturday. Feeding Pets of the Homeless is hosting its 11th annual nationwide pet food and supply drive over the next three days, and there is plenty of live music for all to enjoy! CARSON CITY, Nev. — Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national non-profit organization dedicated to feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless population, is hosting its 11th annual Give a Dog a Bone Week, a national event to collect pet food and supplies for those in need, from Aug. 10-16.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Carson City, Nev., received a $3,000 grant from the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation to provide financial assistance towards helping those in Northern Nevada.

Christmas bells would normally be ringing when Carson City resident Chef Don Pepe holds his annual holiday fundraiser for Pets of the Homeless, a Carson City-based 501(c)3 national non-profit that raises money to provide food, veterinary care and other essentials for the pets of homeless persons.

But 2020 is different.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. Feeding Pets of the Homeless welcomes DeBug Computer into its Donation Site community for pet food and supplies that will be delivered to local food banks, homeless shelters or homeless encampments. Donations may be taken to DeBug’s Carson City location at 1817 N. Stewart Street No. 30, or its Carson Valley location at 1560 U.S. Hwy 395 N. #C in Minden.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Carson City, Nev., received an $83,000 grant recently from the Lazin Animal Foundation, to provide financial assistance toward emergency veterinary care to more than 220 bully breed dogs in 2020.

Five years ago, Chef Don Pepe launched a holiday fundraiser to help Pets of the Homeless, a Carson City-based 501(c)3 non-profit that raises money to provide food, veterinary care and other essentials to the pets of homeless persons.

During October, Michael Hohl Motor Company in Carson City held a pet food drive to fill a pickup for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

UPDATED: The winner of the Bret Andreas State Farm’s Cutest Dog of Carson City contest is Bella, the cutest Yorkie Poo, whose owner is Stan Jones. The contest was held on Saturday, July 27, to benefit Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

CARSON CITY — Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital is hosting a family fun day on Sunday, July 21 to celebrate American Animal Hospital Association Accredited Hospital Day.

AAHA-Accredited Hospital Day is a day to celebrate champions for excellent care. The event takes place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital, 780 College Parkway in Carson City.

CARSON CITY — The national nonprofit, Feeding the Pets of the Homeless, welcomed the generous donation of pet blankets made by Samantha Amthein and Rachel Bush of local Girl Scout Troop No. 210.

Nineteen colorfully patterned fleece blankets were made by the girl scouts for their "Take Action for Changing the World" project.

Carson City, NV – Realty Executives Nevada’s Choice was welcomed in June 2019 by the national nonprofit, Feeding Pets of the Homeless as a Donation Site. Donations of pet food and supplies can be taken to 800 E. College Parkway, Carson City, NV and will then be delivered to a local food bank, homeless shelter or homeless encampment. Feeding Pets of the Homeless is the only national network focused completely on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless.

Every seat in the house was taken Tuesday night at the Bleu Cafe in Carson City, which was host to a special performance by international chef Don Pepe Paz.

Trying to think of ways to give back to the community, Kathy Dean and Nicole Litherland of The Dean Team decided the best way to do that is to donate a portion of their commissions to Carson City area animal organizations. And this isn't a short campaign, but a lifelong career cause.
