Today we honor those who have not only served, but who gave all in defense of our country. A tribute ceremony at Lone Mountain Cemetery for our Nevadan veterans will begin at 1 p.m. A memorial for our Native American veterans begins at 10 a.m. at the cemetery across the street from the Stewart Indian School. Warrant arrest accuses woman of drug trafficking near school

A 63-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on a felony warrant alleging two counts trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Kristin Luis Campaign Kick-Off

She addressed a lively crowd about her plans if elected. She focused on her experiences as a prosecutor and the importance of understanding criminal laws in the position. She also highlighted her ability to make objective decisions due to her work as the Juvenile Special Master here in Carson City.

John Calvin Coolidge Jr. - The Early Years

John Calvin Coolidge Jr., our 30th President, 1923-1929, was perhaps America’s most under-rated chief executive. He was a man of few words, decisive action and a dry sense of humor.

“Silent Cal” was born on the Fourth of July in 1872 in Vermont, the son of a prominent local farmer, general store owner, postmaster and politician. He was the only president born on Independence Day, although three former presidents died on the Fourth.
