MontBleu hosts 10th annual Lake Tahoe Adventure Film Festival

The 10th annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival offers gnarly footage as “all-risk” describes the fast paced, high energy series of extreme sports short films that premiere Saturday, Dec. 10 at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa. Lake Tahoe, recognized as a breeding ground for elite athletes and year-round adventurers, is designed to capture the intensity and passion of adventure with the film festival a perfect reflection of that outdoor culture.

Fourth annual Tahoe/Reno Adventure Film Festival Feb. 26 at Grand Sierra Resort

Lake Tahoe and Reno are recognized as breeding grounds for elite athletes and year-round adventurers, and Reno is the stage for the fourth annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival on Feb. 26 at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino.

Designed to capture the intensity and passion of adventure, the film festival is a perfect summary of outdoor culture. The Dramatic action photography from Aurora Photos flashes on the big screen while go-go dancers and a deejay pump up the crowd, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Tahoe ranked No. 1 ski destination by Rand McNally

Lake Tahoe has been ranked the No. 1 ski destination for the year by Rand McNally, the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority announced Monday.

The ranking is based on travel bookings to the destination when compared to other winter locations throughout the United States and Canada. It is the latest recognition given to the region by the nation's top travel writers and publications, according to the LTVA announcement.

Kids Run-4-Fun in Carson City

A free race for children will be on Saturday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Edmonds Sports Complex. Join the Tahoe Trail Blazers Outdoor Adventure Club for fun runs, obstacle courses, bounce house, pottery painting, food and drinks,and lots more fun for families in support of kids' health and fitness. There will be a half-mile and mile race. The Edmonds Sports Complex is located at 1555 Livermore Lane in Carson City.
