This is the second year the Carson City Chamber of Commerce has organized a Home & Garden Show to showcase the many businesses that can help homeowners improve their homes and gardens.

This Saturday, April 20th, Greenhouse Garden Center will again take center stage showcasing their expertise and creativeness in creating a unique garden setting that only the professionals at Greenhouse can create. Owner David Ruf and staff will be on hand to conduct informative seminars as well.

The Nevada Artists Association will present the Christmas Time Art Show at the Carson City's Brewery Arts Center Gallery. NAA artists will be exhibiting fine art in paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery and glass. Shoppers looking for those special one of a kind gifts will be delighted with the art at the BAC Gallery, which will be open daily, now through Christmas, including Sundays from 10am to 4pm. The Capital City Arts Initiative's exhibition, BRIC Art 3, presents artwork by six northern Nevada artists at the City's Business Resource Innovation Center (BRIC). The exhibition features Jill Altmann's fiber art, Steve Davis' photography, Andy Gallian's prints, Mimi Patrick's ceramics, Stephen Reid's drawings and watercolors, and Gus Bundy's paintings.
The exhibition will remain at the BRIC through late August 2013. The BRIC is located at 108 E. Proctor Street, Carson City. The exhibition is free and the public is cordially invited. (775) 267-3295.

The Nevada Arts Council has awarded $9,148 in Jackpot Grants to nine Nevada artists and one public institution for arts and arts learning projects. Jackpot grants are awarded on a quarterly schedule and are designed to support arts projects initiated by artists, schools, nonprofit organizations and public institutions. These projects are usually “sudden opportunity events” or applications from groups new to the NAC.

Prints by artist Eunkang Koh makeup the latest exhibit at OXS Gallery in Carson City. Within the offices of the Nevada Arts Council, OXS provides a public space for talented Nevada artists to share their work. The new exhibit is now open and runs through Nov.16. The Arts Council will sponsor an artist talk and free reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at 716 N. Carson St. Guests are welcome.

Take a glimpse at a photograph that evolves into multiple masterpieces at the Nevada Artists Association’s Seventh Annual Landscape Show at the Brewery Arts Center Gallery, from July 31 – September 7 in Carson City.

Participating artists paint from the same photograph provided from the show using their own style and mediums, and even creating their own version of the photograph. The gallery will display the different styles that the artists have used for their creation.

The Nevada Arts Council presents "Thick Dreams," a series of mixed media artwork by Nick Larsen, in its Carson City office now through June 3 as part of the Office eXhibition Series. An artist talk and reception will be held Thursday, April 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Join the Carson City Chamber of Commerce as it hosts its monthly Girls Night Out with wine tasting and great art on display at the Nevada Artists Association, 449 West King Street, in Carson City. The event will be on Wednesday, Nov. 10 and at 5 p.m.
