Hello fellow anglers, well the big kids have had there opening fishing day. Now it is time to the little kids to shine. On June 3-4, the 27th annual Lampe Park Free Kids Fishing derby will kick off the season for 2016. This event is open to all kids ages 3 through 12.

Directors Address Library Consolidation Issues

This information is in response to several recent letters to the editor that have proposed the consolidation of libraries in Carson City. Our goal is to provide our community a better understanding of the types of libraries in Carson City. It is true there are libraries who serve the public in Carson City, but Carson City Library is the only “public library.” The other libraries are not “public libraries” and here is how they differ:

First Nationwide Test of The Emergency Alert System on Nov. 9

On November 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time and 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the federal government will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).  The test will last up to three and a half minutes. During this period, regularly scheduled television, radio, cable, and satellite shows will be interrupted as the system is being tested.
