Motivational Native American Speaker Visits WNC Saturday

He will present "Success.....It's in our Blood," at Sarah Winnemucca Hall, Aspen Building, in a free event that is open to both students and the community.

A hospital spokesperson said she is alive and in surgery. Reports are that 12 people were shot, including a federal judge and members of Giffords' staff, and that six have died. The gunman is reportedly in custody.

Researchers conducting tests in the harsh environment of Mono Lake in California's Eastern Sierra off of Highway 395 have discovered the first known microorganism on Earth able to thrive and reproduce using the toxic chemical arsenic. The microorganism substitutes arsenic for phosphorus in its cell components. Click here and here for the story.
