Carson City Candidate Forum from the Carson City Republican Committee. All active voters in Carson City will be receiving, via postal mail, their mail-in ballot the first week of May and the Carson City Republican Committee want you to be ready for the upcoming Primary Election on June 9.

Heading into Thursday, May 23, 2019 we ask: Can you feel it? Yes, the Memorial Day holiday is nearly here and we may even get a weather break or four in between expected showers through the weekend, forecasters say. Activities and events to round out this third Thursday of the month include a meet and greet of Carson City Library candidates at Adams Hub for Innovation, a day hike, a bicycle cruise on the west side of the capital city, a Lunch and Learn Workshop for local nonprofit organizations, a chamber luncheon focusing on mental health, a GOP meeting, art showings, live music and more. Here's what's happening:

Four finalists have been selected for the position of director of the Carson City Library. The public will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and provide feedback to the hiring committee during a meet and greet Thursday.

How do Carson City area voters know who to vote for in the general election? You meet the candidates face to face. Shake their hands and talk to them about your concerns.

Judge the person, not the label. And Friday July 6, is the perfect opportunity. Democratic Congresswoman Jacky Rosen, candidate for US Senate and Senator Aaron Ford, Democratic candidate for Nevada Attorney General will be in Carson City on July 6, to visit with Carson City voters.

After conducting panel interviews of 8 applicants on August 7, 2017 for the position of Assistant County Manager, two candidates have been recommended to move on to be interviewed by the County Manager, Larry Werner.

Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation in conjunction with Truckee Meadows Community College Workforce Development and Community Education Department is hosting a unique program designed to assist people with disabilities improve their soft skills to qualify for employment.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Candidate Forum at the Gold Dust West today beginning at noon. This forum, presented live in the attached video below, gives the community another chance to hear and meet the candidates for mayor and supervisor prior to the start of early voting.

Giving the community one last chance to hear and meet the candidates for mayor and supervisor prior to the start of early voting, the Carson City Chamber is holding a Candidate’s Forum at the Gold Dust West on Monday, Oct. 17.

The Nevada State Republican Party will hold a Bar-B-Q on Saturday, September 17th at The East end of Mills Park in Carson City from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Meet the candidates for Assembly District 40, State Board of Education, Mayor, and Board of Supervisors at this free event.

“VOTE SMART NEVADA” will present a fun easy way to meet the candidates and learn about the ballot questions.

“Speed Meet Your Candidates” is modeled after Speed Dating. Instead of sitting in an audience and listening to political speeches, you will have a chance to meet with the candidates one-on-one and ask them your questions.

On Friday, October 17th at 6 pm Vote Smart Nevada will present the Carson City candidates.

On Saturday, October 18th at 10:30 am you will get to meet with state candidates.

The Carson City Republican Central Committee will host a candidate forum on Thursday, March 27, 7 p.m. at the Silver State Charter High School, 788 Fairview Drive in Carson City. A meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. ahead of the forum.

The public is welcome to attend the March meeting of Carson City Republican Central Committee and to meet the candidates that are running for local office. Get to know the candidates you will be voting for in the June primaries.

Democratic candidate for US Senate, Congressman Shelley Berkeley will be speaking to the Carson City Democratic Women's Club Biennial Meet the Candidates BBQ on Saturday August 25th. The BBQ is being held at the backyard of 1001 Arrowhead Dr. from 1 to 4 PM. Cost is $20.00, children under 12 are free. There will be lots of food, raffle prizes and many other candidates for local offices that will also provide a brief statement of their qualifications and interests. The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will host a Meet the Candidates barbecue fundraising event on Saturday Sept. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carson City home of Ada Rolke, 1001 Arrowhead Drive. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and may be purchased in advance or at the event. Food will be served until 3:30 p.m.

A primary candidate forum will be held on Thursday, April 15, beginning at 6 p.m at the Carson Nugget, 507 North Carson Street in Carson City.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will hold the primary forum centering on candidates for local office. The forum will be held between 6-8 p.m. and the public is invited to meet the candidates and ask questions.

Primary candidates forums will be held on Monday, April 12, and Thursday, April 15, beginning at 6 p.m at the Carson Nugget, 507 North Carson Street in Carson City.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will hold two primary candidate forums centering on candidates for local office. The forums will be held between 6-8 p.m. and the public is invited to meet the candidates and ask questions.
