Tickets on sale for Proscenium Players' Steve Martin comedy 'The Underpants'

The Proscenium Players present Steve Martin’s “The Underpants” at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 West King St., Carson City.
Performance dates are Fridays, March 15, 22, and 29 and Saturday, March 16, 23 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee March 24 at 2 p.m.

Nevada Day events continue Sunday at Mills Park and Legislative Mall with free concert

The salute to America's military "past, present and future" is the theme of this year's statehood events. Featured at the park is the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, living history re-enactments, tributes and military honors and static displays. Go here for more information.
Carson City hosts annual Senior Follies production through weekend

All performances will be held at the Brewery Arts Center’s Maizie Harris Jesse Theatre at 449 West King Street in Carson City.
Carson Valley Community Theatre's new play HOLKA POLKA

Larson, about the nicest witch in Fairytale Land, who embarks on a journey to save all the witches' reputations by saving the Prince. Along the way whe meets some familiar and misunderstood fairytale characters and she also comes to find that an historically sweet and loving character is really evil. This is a wonderful family show that will appeal to any age group. The play is directed by Gardnerville's own Riley Cooper.

This local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society was deemed “Plateau A Champion” at the spring NE Division Chorus contest. Under direction of B.J. Hill, bass for international quartet competition bronze medal winner “Special Feature”, the chorus will present an array of carols and songs of the season.

Of course, that was because the show didn't open until Saturday. But I stayed through the first act and reported that all was fine, music stirring, cast excellent and Stephanie Arrigotti's direction made everything move like clock work.

"Le Grand Cirque" is acrobatics unlimited at the Eldorado in Reno
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 09/02/2010 - 8:39pmIf you're looking for a family type night of entertainment, you could head for the Eldorado in Reno, where acrobats are flying through the air with if not the greatest of ease, then certainly with skills that border on the awesome. “Le Grand Cirque” is populated with a cast of --- don't know, seems like hundreds but is probably about 20 --- artists who make flying through the air, lifting one another with a single hand, and swooping about on nothing more than twisted tablecloths.
