UPDATE: Late Tuesday afternoon it was announced that Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak canceled a planned press conference. He will instead address Nevadans in a videotaped message. In a news release from the Governor's Office it noted that late last week Gov. Sisolak had visited a work place where an employee — who was not in the building at the time — has since reported testing positive for COVID-19. The Governor’s Office learned of the positive test result on Tuesday.
Nevada businesses can start reopening Saturday, subject to capacity limits, other restrictions

Gov. Steve Sisolak says the state will enter “Phase 1” of business reopenings on Saturday, but that establishments allowed to open their doors will be subject to strict capacity requirements that could be even more stringent if leaders in counties want them to be.

The Orchestra Program of Carson City School District is holding its Holiday Concert Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Just the idea of a concert in Carson City is exciting enough, but it gets even better because this musical event will cost audiences absolutely nothing except a little time and effort getting there. Carson High School Principal Gavin Ward stood at the north entrance high-fiving students as they entered high school, some of them for the first time. In fact, counselors, teachers, and other administrators stood at each of the school entrances welcoming students to the best high school in the state, hyperbole aside.
Flat Earth Pizza fundraiser big success

On April 27th, there was a Fundraiser and Silent Auction to help raise money for my wife who is battling Stage IV cancer. There is no chemo or radiation involved because doctors said those treatments would do more harm than good. For this reason, my insurance pays nothing toward her treatment. We also have a $7,000 deductible.
The fundraiser turned out to be a great success and we wanted to thank the many businesses who donated gift cards or items to the Silent Auction.

A fundraiser for a Carson City mother who is currently battling stage 4 breast, bone and liver cancer is set for this Saturday, April 27 at Flat Earth Pizza.
The fundraiser for Mila Mangone of Carson City is from opening to closing, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the pizza restaurant, located at 2010 E William Street. Portions of the proceeds collected at the fundraiser will help Mila's treatment plan.

Hello Carson City and welcome to Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019. With snow plow efforts underway and a warm-up from Mother Nature, it looks like the morning commute will be a slushy one. Carson City schools will operate today at normal start times. That all may change tomorrow though as a significant winter storm is expected to bring snow and rain to the valley and feet of snow to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra. Stay tuned.
