Paws what you’re doing and mark your calendar for Friday, June 21, 5 and 6:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center. Students with the Carson City School District, in partnership with the Wild Horse Children’s Theater, will debut their Summer Theater Camp’s adaptation of Disney’s "101 Dalmatians, Kids." Admission to the play is free of charge; however, donations will be accepted.

Thirty-two employees who have worked a collective 671 years with the Carson City School District will retire this year. The retirees were recognized at the school board meeting Tuesday, May 28.

Carson City awarded $5,000 Domino's 'Paving for Pizza' grant to fix potholes

Residents nominated Carson City for a generous $5,000 grant offered through the Domino’s Paving for Pizza campaign. Paving for Pizza is a creative nationwide initiative to award nominated cities funds to fill potholes. Carson City Public Works proudly accepts this award and is honored to be chosen based on the thoughtful nominations submitted by Carson City’s residents. The courteous gesture of nominating Carson City is praiseworthy.

Vacancy Report shows Carson City's tight market, new apartment complexes coming soon

The 2019 Vacancy Study for Carson City has been released, showing a growing trend of low vacancies, especially in multi-family residential complexes and industrial space.

According to the study, however, there are several projects either underway or waiting for approval, including new apartment complexes, industrial buildings, school expansions, a dog boarding facility, and more.

CARSON CITY — Nicolas Jacques, music teacher at Carson Middle School, was honored last night as the Carson City School District’s Educator of the Year. Additionally, James “Jim” Pike, special needs school bus driver for transportation, was recognized as the Education Support Professional (ESP) Employee of the Year for the district.

Carson City schools earn EPA Energy Star certifications

Nine out of the 10 Carson City School District schools earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star certification, which signifies their buildings perform in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.
