Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more. The Polar Express Train Rides are sold out for the rest of the year, but Santa Train express rides are steaming up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the weekend. Read on for details.

The annual Chili on the Comstock Competition takes over the tiny town of Virginia City, including a saloon crawl Saturday and the hilarious ‘Fun with the Runs’ 5K. Families will have a hard time choosing between the Cops and Kids Open House and Safety Fair at the Sheriff’s Office and the ‘Kids to Parks’ Day activities at Silver Saddle Ranch. CANCELED: Saturday Living Nativity called off due to weather, will resume Sunday

Carson Now was encouraged to let people know that rain or shine the event was going to happen. This was obviously not the case. Organizers were forced to cancel the event for Saturday due to road conditions after being contacted by Carson City officials. Carson Now regrets this error on behalf of organizers.

Rain or shine, Carson City's annual Drive Through Living Nativity will be held this weekend. The annual event will be Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11, 6:30-8 p.m. Enter at Division and King Streets, west of Carson Street.

Team leaders Chief Sharon Daniels and Deputy Kip Lee who are recovering cancer survivors are looking for additional walkers and runners to join their team during this most worthwhile event.

The event kicks off at noon with featured speakers including Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell, a cancer survivor. Music for the Opening Ceremony will be by The Whiskey Heroes with the Luminary Ceremony featuring Carson City singer Molly Seals beginning at 9 p.m.

Lit by 800 luminaria and occupying an entire city block, ten scenes are depicted as cars drive down The Road to Bethlehem.
Walkers also enjoy the story from a special walking path. Over the course of two nights, nearly 200 people of all ages are involved in telling the story, along with live donkeys, cows and sheep. More than 1000 people witness the Christmas story, some for the very first time.

Teams now forming for Carson City’s Relay For Life

This celebration brings together numerous groups and individuals concerned about cancer in a unified effort to fight back.
Teams of enthusiastic residents will gather at Centennial Field for an overnight relay from 10am July 16th to 10am July 17th. The event celebrates anyone who has battled cancer and their caregivers and also remembers loved ones lost.
