Nevada Junior Livestock Show starts Monday; will be done through virtual showcase format
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 05/03/2020 - 11:55amRENO — To adapt to the recent restrictions amid COVID-19, the Nevada Junior Livestock Show will hosts its annual livestock show online this Monday through Friday, May 4-8. Youth ages 9-19 throughout the state and parts of California will be judged on their showmanship and knowledge of their chosen animals through videos they submitted online.
Extension offers online education and resources for Nevada communities

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, University of Nevada, Reno Extension faculty, staff and volunteers have been hard at work to bring educational workshops, programs and resources useful during this time, into Nevadans’ homes.

“We have lots of positions available,” said Lindsay Chichester, chairwoman of the Carson City Fair Board. “We have everything from helping with the youth livestock show to assisting the judging of the static exhibits.”

Julia has been a member of Arrowhead 4-H Livestock Club for the last six years. She has raised and cared for many animals during her time with the club. The generous support of local business and her grandparents, Julian and Joanna Smith, has allowed her to flourish. Julia recently graduated Carson High School and is now attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 06/15/2016 - 8:59amCongratulations to the 18 Arrowhead 4-H Livestock members who participated in the 2016 Nevada Junior Livestock Show last month at the Reno Livestock Events Center. Club members raised and participated in classes in beef, goat, sheep, swine, dairy, quiz bowl and herdsmanship.
All members were required to take classes and be current in their Quality Assurance tests prior to showing in their species. Several members in the club raised and showed 2 species for the 2016 show year. See the list of ribbon and place winners below:

Nevada Fair Tickets on sale at the Carson City Visitors Bureau

The pre-sale tickets are redeemed at the carnival for a wristband that allows you to ride all day on the day you choose to use it. Wristbands purchased at the fair are also $20. Pre-sale ticket sales will end Thursday.
Limited pre-paid parking pass to Nevada Fair in Carson City on sale Tuesday
Submitted by editor on Mon, 07/06/2015 - 3:29pmThe Nevada Fair will have a limited number of prepaid parking passes. There are only 100 passes available. Prepaid reserved parking passes go on sale Tuesday, July 7. They are $20 for one vehicle for all 4 days of the fair.
There is a limited number of 100 passes available, on a first come first serve basis. They are available at the Carson City Treasurer's Office located in City Hall at 201 N. Carson Street.
Carson/Storey 4-H Awards Night

The Leader’s Council supports all of our 4-H clubs and holds events to raise funds for our scholarship program. They meet once a month to plan activities and deal with requests from clubs and the community.
