Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 11:59amUPDATE 10:07PM: Detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff's Office along with investigators and specialists from the DPS Investigations Division and the Forensic Investigation Section continue to actively pursue the cause and circumstances of the three deaths discovered in Silver Springs on Saturday night.
According to Sheriff Al McNeil, based on the investigation so far detectives are confident there is no threat to the community.

Deputy Carl Howell and Jonathon Pope were both killed when they exchanged gunfire at Pope’s residence in Carson City in the early morning hours of August 15, 2015.
