FISH executive director to be Dems' luncheon speaker

Turkey Trot, Gobble Wobble brings out Thanksgiving runners in Carson City
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 11/22/2018 - 11:45am“Run Now, Gobble Later,” said the Turkey Trot sign, and Carson City runners seemed to be all in. Even with the wet streets from rain earlier in the morning.
The Turkey Trot began at 8:30 Thanksgiving morning in front of the Governor’s Mansion, and the adorably named “Gobble Wobble” kids run began at 8:45.

With the arrival of this festival day of feast, family, friendship and thanks, Mother Nature delivered valley rain and Sierra snow overnight. Gusty winds are expected later this afternoon. This morning appears to be in between weather systems, which is good news for those headed to the Governor's Mansion for the annual Turkey Trot. It may be soggy, but not heavy on the rain side.

Pets of the Homeless is a program that provides people in need and pets in need with resources to help their pets. Funds collected go directly to pay for the veterinary, nutritional and other care of pets of homeless individuals across the country.

The Carson City Turkey Trot is an event the entire family will enjoy. Hosted by St. Teresa Catholic School, the fitness event offers an 8K (5-mile) run, 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk, and the Gobble Wobble Kids Fun Run.
