After a spectacular sunset and the rise of the Hunter's Moon last night, you know greatness is ahead. Good morning Carson City, today is Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018. Ahead today is a morning coffee networking event, a craft fair in its 18th year at the Carson Valley Inn, a haunted hayride in Dayton, family night at RSVP's Nevada Day Carnival held through Sunday at Mills Park, a lecture on Nevada names and much more.

Everywhere you look, we are ready for Halloween: skeletons and cobwebs, pumpkins and monsters, witches and headstones. Tonight is the real deal. There have been several Halloween celebrations already, but nothing beats trick-or-treat night. Get started at the Carson Mall, then head over to the Nevada Humane Society for even more candy. The Downtown Business Association welcomes the costumed kids to their Candy Crawl. But there’s nothing quite like the historic west side when it comes to Halloween.

The countdown continues. Nevada Day is observed Friday, so get ready for an action-packed three-day weekend. Head down to Old Town Dayton for their annual Haunted Hayrides into History. You’ll find games, refreshments, Ghostly Pioneers, and it’s the perfect place for your costume. The Boys and Girls Club invites you to their ‘Lights on Afterschool’ event with an ice cream social, face painting, games, bounce house, S.T.E.M. labs and more. A Dodgeball battle at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center raises money for Domestic Abuse Awareness.

Tricks, treats, and fun for all ages is what Halloween is about. You’ll find numerous reasons to don a costume in this year’s list of everything Halloween. Parties for the adult crowd, haunted houses, and trick or treating are just the tip of the broomstick. Everything is listed chronologically by start time. For the first time in its 16-year history, the annual Nevada Women's Expo opened in the Nevada state capital Friday night with a ribbon cutting by Carson City officials.

The Nevada Women's Expo is coming to Carson City this fall, NWE Producer and Coordinator Joye Kinkade said, bringing the traditional Reno venue to the Nevada state capital for the first time in the event's 16-year history.

If today is any indication of how hard it is going to choose between fun activities, we have a tough few days ahead. The Carson Tahoe Spooktacular is an annual favorite for the kids, complete with treats, activities, and helicopers. It’s Family Night at the RSVP Nevada Day Carnival: thanks to Carson City Toyota-Scion, all rides are just $1. Dayton offers a Haunted Hayride through their old town history. Costumes are encouraged for this family fun event. Root beer floats await at the grand opening celebration of the newly renovated FISH.

October 27, 2016 - 5:00pm On Thursday, October 27 bring your family and friends to the annual Haunted Hayride of the Historical Society of Dayton Valley. This free event is our "give-back" to the community and celebrates Dayton history in a fun, family-friendly evening. Continuous old-fashioned hayrides will circle through an Old Town Dayton filled with ghosts of the past, all of whom share a lighthearted attitude toward their history. The evening starts at the museum, where there will also be games for the kids and light refreshments. Costumes are encouraged and kids from 0 to 102 are invited!

Are you ready for this? Nevada Day weekend has arrived and brings with it a downtown filled with friends, neighbors, and fun. Hot air balloons, the annual beard contest, the parade, tours of the Governor’s Mansion, and more make this time of year amazing. The carnival at Mills Park, and the Pow-Wow at the Carson Colony take the festivities to the next level.
SATURDAY: PARADE DAY!
- Nevada Day Classic 8K Run/Walk (same day registration: $40 from 6:30am-7:30am on the second floor of the Carson Nugget Casino; 8am racers begin at Telegraph Square: W. Telegraph and N. Curry Streets; costumes encouraged)

The kids can get a jump start on the Halloween festivities today at the Carson Tahoe Medical Center. The annual Spooktacular Stroll is a fun time not to be missed. Take a ride on the Ferris Wheel or win your sweetheart a prize at the RSVP Carnival that opens today at Mills Park. It’s Family Night, so all rides are only one dollar. Enjoy dancing with DJ Bobby G at Living the Good Life or learn to salsa dance at El Charro’s. Celebrate your October birthday at Carson Cigar Co. with music by the Trippin King Snakes.

October 29, 2015 - 5:00pm Take a hayride around downtown Dayton for an evening of Ghostly pioneers telling tales of Dayton's past. Light refreshments served, visit the museum, play kids games. This is a free family friendly night. The hayride loads at the Dayton Museum at Shady Lane at Logan Alley. The event and rides are Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5PM to 8PM. Come take a ride into the past.

October is an exciting time in Fallon with the onset of fall and the area’s farms celebrating the changing of seasons.
At Lattin Farms, fifth generation farmers Rick and B. Ann Lattin invite the public to enjoy the annual Fall Festival, bringing the rural Nevada town to life every Saturday throughout the month.
