The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is preparing for the third year of the Levitt AMP Carson City free summer concert series.

The countdown to an unforgettable season of free concerts under the stars in Carson City is underway with Thursday's announcement of the 2018 Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series lineup of artists who will perform at the Brewery Arts Center’s Minnesota Street Stage each Saturday through summer.

Eclectic original songs created from the heart as well as covers of classic -southern and alternative rock - All Rock- all ways -any venue any way. Big Heart puts on a show you won’t forget electric or acoustic anywhere-anyway! Diverse as opener with all originals or as headliner with classic covers for a full four set show. There will be free live music this weekend at The Loft inside the Carson Nugget in Carson City. Soul Persuaders have been working together for most of their lives.

They brought with them decades of professional experience playing, recording and touring with many of the biggest names in R&B, Motown, Soul and Funk including the Contours, Carl Carlton, Marvelettes, Rick James, Temptations, Four Tops, Ray Charles, Shotgun, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Freida Payne, Leslie Gore, Miracles, Drifters, Gene Chandler, Flamingos, and many more!

The shows are Friday and Saturday, 9 p.m.

Outdoor summer concert series returns to Carson City in 2018

The Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation on Tuesday named Carson City as one of 15 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to win a Levitt AMP Grant Award of $25,000 in matching funds to present a free concert series at the Minnesota Street Stage. The Brewery Arts Center has been a recipient of the grant for the third straight year.

Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series returns with 2017 summer concert series

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series elevated the Brewery Arts Center’s existing summer concert series, filling the Minnesota Street Stage with free, live music and transforming an underused street in the heart of downtown Carson City’s Historic District into a vibrant gathering place for the surrounding community.

The concert series will return again for 2017, according to Gina Lopez Hill, executive director of the Brewery Arts Center, which was responsible for last year's and this year's proposal to bring the concert series to Carson City and getting Carson City residents to vote for the capital city's chances online.

Happy birthday Nevada: How, when and where to celebrate Nevada Day 2016 events

The Carson City Off-Road was named the best mountain bike race in the nation during the Interbike International Bicycle Exposition on Thursday evening in Las Vegas.

“This is great news for us,” said Joel Dunn, executive director of the Carson City Visitors Bureau, from the event.
