Saturday's event, which brought thousands to the downtown area and had more than 40 restaurants represented in the mix, was the main fundraiser for Advocates to End Domestic Violence. The winners were voted on by ticket holders of the main event.

Firkin Friday's summer outdoor concert series kicks off with Baker Street
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 06/05/2014 - 9:07pmThe Firkin & Fox Carson City kicks off its summer concert series this Friday, June 6, with local rock n' roll favorite Baker Street beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Known for churning out the classics from the 1970s and 80's, Baker Street has developed a loyal Northern Nevada fan base, with its guitar-driven licks and crisp vocal stylings. There's no better way to celebrate summer than with music that rocks to it.
The Firkin Friday's outdoor concert is at 310 South Carson Street. There will be plenty of food, barbecue and drink specials going on inside.
Carson City dignitaries gather for annual bike ride through town

Hosted by Carson City bicycle group Muscle Powered, the spirited group of cyclists dusted off their bikes and shared the road with motorists as part of a month of activities planned through the bicycle advocacy group Muscle Powered.

HopeFest outdoor concert Friday in Downtown Carson City to benefit local cancer patients

The outdoor event featuring the band Notch 8 takes place on Friday, October 4 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. outside of the Firkin & Fox restaurant on Third Street in Carson City. The event was rescheduled due to hazardous air conditions caused by the California Rim Fire.

Search and Rescue Geocache Adventure a Big Success
Submitted by editor on Fri, 05/17/2013 - 10:08pmOn April 27th approximately 80 entrants competed in the Annual Geocache Adventure to help raise funds for the purchase of improved radio equipment for the unit. Entrants of all ages, using GPS and maps competed in a modern day treasure hunt in various public areas of Carson City.
Participants located tokens that were redeemed for poker hands and prizes at Bully’s after the event.

February beer crawl in Carson City set for Feb. 16
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 02/07/2013 - 8:47amThe next installment of the Carson City Beer Crawl is set for Feb. 16. Tickets are $10. Participants will receive a wrist band, map and glass to use for $1 refills of 6 ounce samples at multiple downtown Carson City locations.
If you like beer and enjoy good Carson City company, you can pick up your beer glasses beginning at 11am the day of the event at High Sierra Brewing Co. If you have your glass from the previous event, it's only $5.
The Beer Crawl starts at High Sierra Brewing Co., 302 N Carson St. on the corner of Proctor and Main street.

The now Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, founding member of iconic rock band The Jefferson Airplane and of long-touring band Hot Tuna and legendary guitarist in his own right, plays High Sierra Brewing Company, Thursday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. in a show produced by Chili Bop Entertainment.
HopeFest Raises over $50,000 for Cancer Patients

This is an increase over last year’s net earnings of $37,000 and like last year, one hundred percent of these proceeds go towards local cancer patients seeking treatment in Carson City. Currently, the CTH Foundation is the only non-profit organization focused on supporting Carson area cancer patients with living expenses.

The CCSO 9th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge will take place at Legends. See these highly trained men and women compete for glory in slow motion!

Come and taste the best beer and pizza in the region, and vote for your favorite. You can also enjoy the Final Four on TV at the same time, or take part in basketball shooting contests. There will be a live auction for trips and events, a silent auction for great local gifts, and a drawing for a Samuel Adams trip to Boston.

Paradise Lost: Restaurant in Carson Mall closes
Submitted by admin on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 9:42amOver the weekend, the Paradise Cove Cafe in Carson Mall closed its doors, the end to a labor of love for owners Doug and Jamesa Cramer.
"Relieved" was the first word Doug said when I asked him how he was doing. The efforts to keep the restaurant in business over the last year and 10 months had clearly taken a toll.
Gold's Gym IHEAL A Thon

There are numerous events that we will be doing that day. Among them are: a dunk tank donated by Kemp's Fun Jumpers. The Mayor is going to be in that dunk tank between noon and 1 pm. We have Firkin Fox doing BBQ. There will be a DJ and a popcorn machine. We are holding a "Sponsor A Slacker". That entails people getting sponsored to come to a 45 minute class designed to kick their tails! There is also a "Spin A Thon". Sponsor sheets are available at Gold's Gym.
