Margaret Susan Mitchell, nee Griffin, passed peacefully at her home in Carson City on May 26, 2020 following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pasadena, California on February 3, 1952 to Richard D. CARSON CITY — Employment stats in early March, before the COVID-19 shutdown, shows Carson City having gained 400 jobs over March 2019 figures but had decreased significantly since February of this year, according to data released Tuesday by Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. Carson City's unemployment also swelled to 6.7 percent, up from 4.1 percent in February, and up from 4.5 percent a year ago.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health has announced that it will begin posting statewide updates on the COVID-19 situation in Nevada on a weekly basis.

On February 28, NV Energy filed its Natural Disaster Protection Plan with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada per Senate Bill 329, that outlines how the company plans to help protect the public from the impacts of natural disasters on its electric infrastructure that have been experienced in other Western states.

Lyon County Republican Central Committee will meet on Saturday, March 7 in Dayton at the Lyon County Utilities Building located at 34 Lakes Blvd., Dayton.

The meeting commences at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity to meet Republicans and local and state officials. Services will be held on Saturday February 29, 2020 at 11:00 at the Carson Colony Gym, 2900 South Curry Street, Carson City, NV 89703.

Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am before the services. Burial will be at the Stewart Cemetery after services. Fellowship and potluck will follow back at the Carson Colony Gym. Everyone is welcomed. Flowers or food donations is appreciated.
