Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off

September 12, 2015 - 10:00am

The Fourth Annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex. Admission is free to the event, and all attendees receive a free ticket for a door prize drawing. Vintage cars, a cake walk, vendors offering all manner of gift items, household furnishings, and personal care items will be available, as well as a number of drawing prizes.

Local authors and artists will participate, and the Lake Tahoe Humane Society, the Lake Tahoe Cancer League, and Christmas Cheer will be accepting donations.

Description: Lattin Farms puts on yet another spectacular maze display, but this time in celebration of the 150 years of Nevada. Kids get in for $5, adults get in for $7 and children four years-old and under get in for free. The Sesquicentennial Maze gives people of all ages the chance to put their skills to the test. Advanced Chiropractic hosts inaugural community Fall Festival

The community is invited to attend the first Fall Festival hosted by Dr. Brad and Christy Pastro of Advanced Chiropractic, 3232 Carmine St., Carson City.
The fun takes place Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will include face painting, games, crafts, a bounce house, food and more for children of all ages.

There will also be a raffle that includes Wolf Pack tickets, a wine basket, children’s basket and more. All proceeds from the raffle will go to support The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada.

St. Teresa of Avila's annual Fall Festival will be held Sunday, Sep 21, 11:30 a.m. at Fuji Park. The festival begins with a Mass in the park followed by fun, food and games.

Statewide Nevada 150 events held throughout second half of September

Many celebrations are scheduled throughout the Silver State in the month of September. These Nevada 150 events celebrate all things Nevada and help bring awareness to the 150th Anniversary of Statehood. The following events are held Sept. 15 through 30.

Fall festivities abound at Fallon area farm

October is an exciting time in Fallon with the onset of fall and the area’s farms celebrating the changing of seasons.

At Lattin Farms, fifth generation farmers Rick and B. Ann Lattin invite the public to enjoy the annual Fall Festival, bringing the rural Nevada town to life every Saturday throughout the month.

Doug Busey's local lake and stream fishing report

Just got back from a 1,200 mile trip up the coast and into Oregon to fish and enjoy family. Renee and I enjoyed all the rivers on the way. The Russian, Klamath, Eel, Illinois, Chetco, Smith and the Rogue. Caught a few fish and had a great time.

While in Gold beach Oregon we received over 2 inches of rain in one afternoon.

Free multi-cultural Fall celebration Sunday at Fuji Park in Carson City

The annual Basque Festival at Fuji Park is evolving this year to become a multi-cultural celebration this Sunday, Sept. 15, that includes Basque, Italian, Mexican and Nevada barbecue cuisine.

Dubbed the “Fall Festival,” this family-friendly event offers a “Kid Zone” with 5 bounce houses, arts and crafts tables, a Home Depot build project, various games, kid karaoke, caricatures, face painting and a balloon artist. Adults can enjoy live music and dancing as well as Bingo in the Pavilion with various prize levels available.

Carson City Author Featured at Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off

The second annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off will return to the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The event will begin at 10:00 am and run until 4:00 pm. Admission is free, and door prizes will be given away every fifteen minutes. There will also be a drawing for one hundred dollars cash, given to one attendee.

Red Ribbon Week Events Throughout Lyon and Storey Areas Promote Sober and Healthy Lives

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation reaching millions of Americans near the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in community events, young people pledge to live sober and thus healthier, lives.

During this year’s Red Ribbon Week, Healthy Communities Coalition asks adults to respond to the growing epidemic of prescription drug misuse among youths by keeping medications locked up, and properly disposing of old medications.
