Lake Tahoe Brewing closes throughout the region amid legal troubles

In the last two months, Lake Tahoe Brewing Co.'s four locations in Carson City, Truckee, Fernley and Reno closed or never opened. What would've been the region's largest locally-owned beer franchise fizzled down to nothing after a series of legal troubles flattened the brand.
High Sierra Brewing Company celebrates grand opening

The High Sierra Brewing Company celebrated its grand opening in style Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. Formerly Doppelgangers, High Sierra Brewing Company, located at 302 N. Carson Street, offers current-day brews and daily food specials.

Firkin Doppelgangers!

The old Lucky Spur building downtown has gone through some changes over the years, from the vacant rats' nest, to Stew's Sportatorium, to its current identity of Doppelgangers. And under it's current name, it's seen many changes.
But now it looks like it will have a new owner and new name. Jim Phalan, owner of Firkin & Fox, will be taking over Doppelgangers and converting it to the Knee Deep Brewing Company.
Carson City Doppelgangers donates pool tables, vehicles to community organizations

The Tap Room is a premier patio-dining destination offering hearty food and exceptional beer from its on-site brewery. Doppelgangers will operate for lunch and dinner with live music by the Bar BQ Boys from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

New restaurant opening inside of Doppelgangers

There there will be a "soft" opening beginning next week, with an official grand opening on May 1.
The new restaurant incorporates indoor dining space as well as the outdoor patio on Curry Street that has been a popular warm-weather gathering place in the past.
They feature a new menu to go along with Doppelgangers' selection of site-brewed beer, from Carson City's only brewery. (See attached menu)
