CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval today asked for a statewide review of cash settlements with former state employees after Controller Kim Wallin uncovered three payments to former Department of Transportation workers that were not approved as required by state law.

Nevada is one of the most active states for earthquakes and ranks third in the country for earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 or higher.
Nugget Project developer gives upbeat status report

The meeting of the Nugget Project Advisory Committee was supposed to see the final plans tonight, but those plans have been delayed by legal and financial issues, according to City Manager Larry Werner.
What they did get was an overview of where the project stands right now, along with a look at some numbers that could determine its feasibility.
State insurance workers on leave because of pigeon problem

Information Now Available To Nevadans About High Risk Health Insurance Pool Program

The pool, which is to provide coverage to uninsured individuals with pre-existing conditions, is accepting applications beginning today.

A spokeswoman with the division confirmed the building was closed because of pest control, performed by a cleaning crew, because of pigeons in the air ducts. The department of Business and Industry closed the building at around 11 a.m. on Friday, sending employees home.
