Similar to COVID-19, the 1918 Influenza Epidemic spread around the world. The epidemic arrived in Nevada in the spring of 1918 and returned even deadlier in October and November that year before tapering off in the spring of 1919.

As of Saturday, April 18, 2020, there are a total number of cases to 59, with 15 recoveries, 44 cases remain active.

Nevada governor promises details on state's reopening plan next week; more testing needed

Steve Sisolak says he expects to know much more next week about whether conditions are right to either end or extend directives that have shut down much of the state, but cautioned that he had no “benchmark date” in place and that any easing of restrictions would likely be gradual.

The closures were effective as of Monday, April 13, 2020.
