Many celebrations are scheduled throughout the Silver State in the month of October. These Nevada 150 events celebrate all things Nevada and help bring awareness to the 150th Anniversary of Statehood. The following events are held Oct. 16 through 30. Highlights of statewide Nevada Day weekend events are forthcoming.

On Friday Oct. 17, come watch the Nevada 150 Pony Express Delivery, on the south steps of the Nevada State Capitol Building in Carson City at 3:30 p.m.

The Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company from Salt Lake City Utah will perform at the CVIC Hall, in Minden on November 1. The Company will also conduct a Dance Workshop for area dance students on November 2. Tickets are $25 in advance. Master Dance Class is $20 or $25 for the class and concert and reservations are required. Deadline for the Dance Workshop is October 25.

The Concert on November 1 is at 7:00 pm at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda, Minden.

Coming Friday, August 9th, to Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City! The evening will include showcase dance routines by students and professionals. After the show, enjoy a Ball filled with lots of music for various dances! Including Ballroom, Swing, Latin, and Country. Music will be provided by The Craig Fletcher Band, and DJ music from Yaple’s Ballroom. A professional videographer and photographer from Lasting Touch will be there, dress formal and get your picture taken! Enjoy food from the salad and dessert bar. There will also be a soda bar with vintage sodas for sale for $2.

Coming to Carson City is your chance to learn how to dance. From Country to Waltz to Salsa! Offering 32 different group classes to choose from!! Teens group classes and adult group classes offered. Watch the show, Love’s Stories, a ballroom dance production. Then dance the night away at the Friday Night country dance with yummy refreshments. Or come to or formal Valentine's Ballroom dance and enjoy our chocolate buffet!
