The Carson City Host Lions is pleased to announce the 23rd annual community Crab Feed will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fuji Park Hall.

The Lions, with the help of Celebrity Chef Jonathan Chapin and his team, will serve up Dungeness crab, roasted beef tri-tip, salad, bread, and ice cream. There will be music, dancing, raffle prizes and a silent auction to raise funds for Lions' projects.

This event marks the 18th year for St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School's annual Crab Feed, bringing the community and surrounding areas together to support St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School in Carson City, educating kids from grades K-8 and providing preschool and pre-K programs in its Child Development Center.

The 2020 Carson Lions Club Annual Crab Feed is being postponed from March 27 to a new date of June 26, 2020 due to coronavirus concerns. For additional information contact Sam Herceg at 775-721-9947.

The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. This weekend calls for a celebration, because the first Saturday of March is upon us and that means the Carson City Downtown Business Association Wine Walk come rain, snow, wind or shine. And get this: Today's Wine Walk is the last one before Spring.

Not only is Friday the first day of March in this 2019 calendar year but it is also the end of the work week. And for this we say welcome to a month that brings us the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, which is this Saturday, NCAA basketball playoffs, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the first day of spring. While we look forward to these future events, there's plenty of activities lined up for today. Read on and find out more.

Catering provided by Liberty Events & Catering. There will be dinner, dancing, raffle prizes, silent and live auctions. Tickets available now and are $75 per person and can be purchased online or at the school's front office. The school is located at 567 S. Richmond Street, Carson City.

The Carson City Host Lions Club 20th Annual Crab Feed is happening on March 1, 2019 at the Fuji Park Pavilion. The donation is $55 per ticket and gets you into the "all you can eat" crab extravaganza. Raffles, auctions, music and dancing will also be part of the festivities. This event helps fund many services and projects supported by the Carson City Host Lions Club. For tickets to this event, call Sam at 775-721-9947.

It is finally Friday. As August melts away, it brings us closer to the new school year. Carson High returning students are invited to the Senator Kick-off this morning to get their fill of back-to-school updates. Families will love the Movie in the Park; bring a blanket or chairs and come prepared to enjoy ‘Coco.’ Three days of high-flying fun begins today at Heritage Park in Gardnerville as the Splash Dogs competition gets underway. You will always find live music around town on Fridays, but during the Jazz and Beyond Festival, it seems like music is everywhere.

I’m going to apologize right now. I can’t anticipate what this storm system will throw at us, so some of these planned events could get cancelled. One event that is never afraid of Mother Nature is the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Come rain, shine, or blizzard, you’ll find can sip, stroll, and discover starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Carson Hot Springs aren’t afraid of a little snow, and a special visit from Megan the Mermaid will make the icy hot experience more memorable. The 15th Annual Crab Feed benefiting St. Teresa of Avila School in Carson City will be held on Saturday, March 3, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street.

Summer nights are made to be enjoyed. Grab the kids, a blanket and picnic, and head to the park nearest you. Mills Park in Carson City features its first ever ‘Movie in the Park’ tonight with a showing of ‘Sing’. Gardnerville’s last of the season movie is Disney’s ‘Moana.’ Dancing shoes are recommended, but not required, for this week’s outdoor concert in McFadden Plaza: Musicole begins at 7:30 p.m. Get there early to see the amazing talent in 'We Rock Kidz' on the stage in Comma Coffee's Courtyard. What a great start to March. A few days on sunshine under our belt and now it’s wine walk weekend. With fingers crossed, the weather should hold out until it’s over, but be prepared for some wind. The sun is shining on Carson City and all sorts of fun is blooming. It’s a great day for the kids with the Kerak Shrine Circus in Reno, cookie decorating at Genoa Candy and Coffee, and a Father-Daughter Dance at Dayton High School. Show some love to Carson High Senior Amber Reeves: she’s displaying her photography at the Brewery Arts Center for her Senior Project. Carson City Arts Gallery introduces their monthly Artist Reception tonight by welcoming Kathleen Osborne Flanagan. The nightlife tonight features music, karaoke, dancing, comedy and more. Fingers crossed, we’ve got a few days without the wet stuff. This winter seems like the song that never ends. We received late word that Saturday's monthly Trash Mob has been canceled. The good news is there's a day-long music fest at the Carson Colony Gym on South Curry is fundraising for the DAPL Water Protectors. Music, art, cinema, comedy and more are on tap for this weekend. I hope you like live music, Carson City, because tonight you’ve got plenty of it. No matter what your style, there is someone for you. Take the kids to the Nevada State State Train Museum for Lucky Diamond and the Gents of Jive or to the McFadden Plaza for an outdoor concert with Musicole. Leave the kids with a sitter if you’re going to head to Living the Good Life for some outdoor fun with CV-41 or inside the Westside Pour House with reggae group Whiskey Lung. A to Zen has a store-wide scavenger hunt to accompany their weekly open Mic.

Got kids? The Boys and Girls Club is where you want to be today for the Second Annual Early Childhood Expo. Curious George and Clifford the big red dog can’t wait to say hello. Take a trip out to the Dayton State Park to search for animal tracks and more with a park ranger. If you’re kid free today, then the Downtown Business Association Wine Walk is for you. Living the Good Life and Glen Eagles have dinner music for you. An afternoon treat is best found at Yogurt Beach: all proceeds help the family of three year old Maya Morrison battling leukemia. Surf and Turf will be featured at this year’s 13th Annual Crab Feed scheduled for Saturday, March 5, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street.

This wildly popular annual dinner supports the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School in Carson City, educating kids in grades K-8 and providing preschool and pre-K programs in its Child Development Center.

Happy Friday, Carson City. Grab a bite at Meek’s Lumber at their first Friday BBQ for lunch, or at the Lions Club Crab Feed at Fuji Park tonight. Cheer on the Western Nevada College Wildcats as they battle Salt Lake City Community College on the softball and baseball fields.

Such beautiful weather this week. True to Nevada luck, the chill returns in time for the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed that the storm front brings some precipitation our way. One place it’s seasonally appropriate is the Nevada Artist Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Center. They will be hosting an artists’ reception for their new Winter Art Show Saturday evening.

First things first. I want to send a big shout out and good luck to all of our Carson kids that are competing at the Flips Invitational Gymnastics meet in Reno this weekend. For those of you who aren't the proud parents of tumblers, Carson City has plenty to keep you busy.

Dinner includes all the crab you can eat, plus BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, salad, garlic bread, and ice cream for dessert at the Fuji Park Events Building on Old Clear Creek Rd.

No host cocktails at 6:00 PM, dinner served at 7:00 PM and live band with dancing 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM.
