Another change in the skies over Carson City, Western Nevada, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra is in the forecast this week, according to the National Weather Service.
After a Nevada Day weekend of blue skies and warm weather a cold front will move into the area late Monday giving way to cooler temperatures in the valleys and a chance of snow in the Sierra on Tuesday. Later in the week, a colder and wetter system will move through the region, with possible periods of heavy snow for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra, according to the weather service.

Here is the Northern Nevada, Northern California and Southern Oregon fishing report for the week of May 18-25:

Several Tahoe ski resorts to open this weekend

A handful of Lake Tahoe ski resorts prepare to open for the season this weekend thanks to an early snowfall, snowmaking guns and a fairly large storm set to punch the Sierra.

Around a foot or more of natural snow across the Sierra earlier this month certainly helped get things moving. With this weekend's anticipated storm, which may bring anywhere from 2-4 feet of snow to the Sierra, resorts should get a nice healthy boost just in time for the holiday season.

Here's what we know:
