Making Strangers Smile - One Cookie at a Time

Event Date:
March 20, 2019 (All day)

My son and I just had the most amazing day! A friendly serviceman from The Happy Outlet just gave my son and I these delicious sugar cookies. When we asked why, they said just to see us smile, no strings attached. Well we certainly did! The serviceman told us that March 20th was International Happiness Day. When we got home I looked it up and sure enough, this is actually a UN-sanctioned day. I think this is awesome that a local company is taking the time to do something wonderful for our community. With so much hate and division, everyone needs this now more than ever!

Selling Your Home? Here’s One Aroma That Will Help You Sell It

True or false…When you’re selling a house, you should bake cookies before a showing or an open house.

I guess you could say the answer is a hard and fast “true” because, after all, it can’t hurt. Who doesn’t like the smell of freshly baked cookies?

But it’s also kind of false…

It isn’t like you can Betty Crocker your way to a sale, let alone at the highest price possible. Your entire house still needs to be appealing. A batch of cookies isn’t going to hide bad odors enough or divert people’s attention from a messy house that needs repairs.

If only it were that simple…

The weekend has arrived, and it will be an exceptionally long one for the schoolkids of Carson City: spring break begins Monday. Break a leg to the Douglas students performing in ‘Game of Tiaras’ this weekend; the show sounds hilarious, but be warned, it’s not for kids. For a family friendly outing, check out Story Time with Suzie at the Nevada Railroad Museum, or photos with the Easter Bunny at PetSmart.

What Works: Affirmations are fluff if you don’t believe them

I was working with a client today who had a concern about her confidence. “Everyone has a degree and I don’t,” she said. She mentioned her lack of degree had held her back from meeting new business contacts. Sometimes, she felt like running away when a conversation turned academic. Occasionally, she did by ending the conversation.
