INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — It’s a banner year for Bald Eagles in Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Institute of Natural Science reports that a record number of 42 Bald Eagles were spotted during its annual survey. The previous high was 27 set in 2017.

Some people choose to run for public office because they feel slighted by their incumbent opponent of local government and seek to stick it to incumbency.

Again the toothless porch dog of the "ole boys club" bays at those who have the courage to take a stand in opposition to the status quo in Carson City. Blinded by his own irrelevance, Neathammer tries to bully any viewpoint that isn't his own.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Eric Biggart, Chair of LDS Democrats of America. The group, which is not affiliated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has as its slogan, "Same faith. Same values. Different perspective." Their mission, as laid out on their Facebook page, is to “promote the full participation of Latter-day Saints in the Democratic Party. We do this by providing educational and social resources to progressive, moderate, and conservative Democrats who are also LDS, and others who are interested in participating in a ‘no shouting’ environment.”

He spoke to Reno’s Hayek Club, a group that promotes limited government and individual freedom and has endowed area high schools with a fine curriculum and materials on managing personal finances.

His talk and the discussion following it addressed, among other things, similarities and differences among socialism, communism, Nazism, fascism and progressivism.

Carson City Republican Women will meet on Tuesday, March 19 to hear our featured speaker Jennifer Baker, Director of Communications for the Nevada Republican Caucus.
