Cornerstone at Former Carson City U.S. Mint 150th Anniversary
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 09/08/2016 - 2:16pmMASONIC CORNER STONE 150 YEAR REDEDICATION FOR U.S. MINT IN CARSON CITY SEPTEMBER 24, 2016 On September 24, 1866 at 2:00 pm, the Grand Lodge of Nevada, Free and Accepted Masons dedicated the laying of the cornerstone of the original U.S. Mint in Carson City, Nevada. Exactly 150 years later to the day and time, the Grand Lodge of Nevada, Free and Accepted Masons will rededicate that cornerstone at what is now the Nevada State Museum.
Inaugural Family Fun Day arrives in Carson City this Saturday at Mills Park

There will be rock climbing demonstrations, face painting, pirates, obstacle courses, a bubble station, music, a photo booth, ice cream, refreshments beginning at 11 a.m. and running until to 9 p.m.

Girl Scout goes for gold in helping deployed soldiers

What once began as casual letter writing and card sending by mother and daughter to delayed troops has since grown to a community event with the help of Delaney.

Tickets for the Holiday Crawl are available at local businesses, including Fingerprinting Express, Caterpillar’s Hookah Lounge, Westside Pour House, and Carson City Visitors Bureau; as well as Carson Fire Station 51, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Juvenile Probation. Attendees must be 21 and over.

Carson City Pop Warner Community Event

Carson City Pop Warner football and cheer will be holding its annual Friday Night Lights event. This is the leagues biggest fundraiser of the season.
This event helps keep costs down for next year and helps to keep a quality program running in our community. You do not have to be involved in Pop Warner to join in the fun! Wristbands will be sold at the gate for $5 per person.

Hundreds show for 2015 Carson City Sheriff's Office Cops and Kids Open House
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 05/16/2015 - 1:57pmAfter 12 years, the annual Carson City Sheriff's Office Cops and Kids open house Saturday was among the biggest yet, with dozens of families and hundreds of children taking part in games, contests and information events well into the late morning and into the afternoon.
The popular community event is aimed at children of all ages and their families as a way introduce public safety agencies, especially law enforcement, to them. The event is part family carnival without the rides, and part educational experience, where music, food, contests, songs and dancing are the orders of the day.

The 12th annual Carson City Sheriff's Office "Cops and Kids" Open House, billed as the "Safest Street Party in Carson City," will be this Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the sheriff's office, 911 East Musser Street.
The free community event features, activities, ID kits for children, food, music, games and more. On hand will be the sheriff's office K9 dogs, motorcycle patrol unit, Special Enforcement Team, stellar squad, a new SWAT unit, representatives from DARE, and the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The enchanted evening will held at Senator's Castle, Carson High School, on April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This community event is open to all ages of girls. One Princess from each elementary and middle school in the Carson City area will be crowned that evening, and one from a pre-school age group as well. There is no age limit for this event.
Carson City Symphony, Carson Mall host Friday's 'Christmas Carol Playalong for Strings'

Violin, viola, cello, bass, and harp players are welcome to come and play. Bring your music stand. Everyone else, come and listen or sing along.
