Sunday, Sept. 4 Labor Day weekend: Things to do around Carson City

Ribs and cantaloupes are on the menu today if you want to head out to Sparks or Fallon, respectively. Stay local and let the Elks Club serve you up some pancakes at their monthly breakfast. Genoa offers up a fun afternoon with friends: Sweet Sippin Sunday begins at 1 p.m. The Summer Concert Series at the Nugget offers up a tribute to Tom Petty and Bob Seger with Double Trouble. AT&T supports WNC Jump Start College with $14,000 donation

AT&T has granted Western Nevada College $14,000 to help fund Jump Start College, an innovative, dual-enrollment program developed by Western Nevada College to encourage postsecondary education among high school students. The grant was awarded through AT&T Aspire.
