Carson City Community Helps Find Dog Missing for 31 Days

A Southern California woman has been reunited with her dog this week, thanks to the Carson City community. The search to find the red cattle dog named Kizzy quickly became a city wide effort. The dog had been missing for 31 days after getting loose in Fuji Park on October 2. She was finally found on November 3.

Trap set by SPCA successful in recovery of missing cattle dog

After having gone missing for a month in the Carson City area, Kizzy the cattle dog was found late last night in a trap set to catch her, said Carson-Tahoe SPCA President Susan Paul, who set the trap in a lot of sage brush on Roland Street in South Carson City.

Horses gather at the refurbished watering fountain during Nevada Day Parade

It didn't take long after the recent refurbishing of the horse trough watering fountain before units from the Carson City, Washoe, Reno, and Sparks law enforcement units stopped by to water the horses during the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday. This was a wonderful flashback to the original purpose of the fountains and the rebuild this year.

New sightings of Kizzy the red cattle dog, who escaped from her owner at Fuji Park on Oct. 2, have been made. The elusive medium-build, pointy-eared, short red-haired dog was recently seen behind Costco as well as across the highway at Western Nevada Supply Company.
