Our Dayton site (901 Medical Center Dr.) is now offering the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5 and older. You can get either your initial shot, or the booster. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also sign-up through your MyChart account.

However, while rates of transmission for children and teenagers have remained low since the pandemic began, new reporting shows a significant increase in minors contracting the virus, according to statistics.

Carson Tahoe COVID update: hundreds of hospital employees receive vaccination, 400 doses of Moderna vaccine arrive

Those who are first up to receive the vaccine include health care personnel and long term care facilities as a part of the first phase of Tier 1 distribution.
The first batch of initial COVID-19 vaccines has reached Carson City, and was received by Carson Tahoe Health Tuesday morning.
Carson City health officials fight two battles: one against COVID-19, another against misinformation

Even as restaurants and bars were reopened, daily positive cases were generally staying within single digits inside the Quad-County region.
However, between October and December, both test positivity rates as well as overall cases — and deaths — have seen a massive increase. Local health organizations are now not only fighting against the disease, but against misinformation campaigns as well.

Noticing this, and acting on recommendations from the U.S. Surgeon General and the American College of Surgeons, Carson Tahoe decided to temporarily suspend non-emergent or non-time-sensitive surgeries through Nov. 22, in which time it will be reevaluated.

Lions Club kicks off its annual “White Cane Days” Saturday and Sunday in Carson City to increase awareness of the white cane traffic safety laws, and collect used eyeglasses for distribution to those in need. Local business Wizard of Pawz grooming salon hosts a socially-distanced grand opening on Saturday afternoon, followed by a pool tournament at Bulldog Billiards at 6 p.m. Combined with live music and karaoke, the state capitol will be packed with excitement!
