Steampunk Ball to celebrate Sesquicentennial
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 10/27/2014 - 9:51pmThe first ever Nevada Day Steampunk Ball, a costume fundraiser for ages 18+, is at the Carson Nugget Ballroom Oct. 31, from 7 p.m to midnight. The event’s theme combines the formality of old-time nostalgia with a light-hearted science fiction twist, and includes high-energy dance music by Nevada’s own Rock-N-Roll Rebels, a no-host bar (for those 21+), sweet treats, and costume contest with prizes. Don't stress if you're having trouble coming up with Steampunk costume: consider dressing Victorian, western, or in the costume of your choosing.
