The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will meet at Grandma Hatties Restaurant at 11:30 AM to order lunch. At noon, Brenda Silis of Capital City Initiatives will present a family who has worked their way out of poverty through this program. There will also be discussion on progress with the Nevada Day Float and preparation for the February 2012 Presidential Caucus. All women are welcome to attend

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club monthly meeting will feature speaker Ryan Costella who will introduce his "Empowerment Nevada" Program. This should be a lively discussion. The Open House for the new headquarters September 23rd from 5-8 PM will be planned as well as the design for the Club's Nevada Day Float. Our guest speaker is Jim Peckham of FISH and the Children's Museum. Members will be asked to volunteer for the Lego Exhibit and/or contribute to these organizations. The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will be meeting on March 12 at Grandma Hatties. Everyone is welcome, you may order off the menu from 11:30 to noon. The meeting will run from noon to 1:30 PM. Guest Speaker is Jan Gilbert of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN). She will discuss current issues in Nevada. During the business meeting, two new activity ideas will be discussed.as well as progress reports on other programs For information call 884-3037.

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club annual Christmas party will raise funds to benefit the Children's Museum and Food for Thought on Saturday December 11th at Grandma Hatties Restaurant, starting at 11:30 AM and is open to all. Instead of bringing gifts to exchange the attendees are asked to donate the equivalent in cash or checks to one or both organizations. (A single donation will be split between the two organizations). A holiday buffet lunch will be available for a cost of $17. For information and reservations please call Joan at 882-5704.

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will host a Meet the Candidates barbecue fundraising event on Saturday Sept. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carson City home of Ada Rolke, 1001 Arrowhead Drive. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and may be purchased in advance or at the event. Food will be served until 3:30 p.m.
