In this Carson TV News segment, guest anchor Taylor Radtke discusses the 2014-15 season of the Carson Chamber Singers and Carson City Symphony Chorus.

They perform several concerts each year and have sung throughout the area. They sing regularly with the Carson City Symphony and have performed in several concerts with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra.

Chamber Singers, Carson City Symphony Chorus begin season rehearsals

The Carson Chamber Singers and Carson City Symphony Chorus, conducted by Michael Langham, are beginning their 2014-15 season. Carson Chamber Singers were founded in 1985 as the select choral group of the Carson City Symphony.

They perform several concerts each year and have sung throughout the area. They sing regularly with the Carson City Symphony and have performed in several concerts with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra.

Carson City Symphony Chorus to begin rehearsals for upcoming concerts

Carson City Symphony Chorus, conducted by Michael Langham, is beginning rehearsals on Tuesday, January 28, for two concerts with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 1750 N. Mountain Street in Carson City. Singers who are interested in joining should contact Director Michael Langham at sfml@aol.com or the Symphony at 775-883-4154.

Carson City Symphony Chorus to begin rehearsals

The Carson City Symphony Chorus, an extension of the select Carson Chamber Singers, will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 7 to 9 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 1750 N. Mountain Street in Carson City.

The Chorus, directed by Michael Langham, is open to all singers, high-school age through adults. They will perform in the Holiday Treat concert with the Symphony on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Carson City Community Center.

Carson Chamber Singers featured in Nov. 1 Reno concert, Nov. 2 in Carson City

The Carson Chamber Singers, a choral group of the Carson City Symphony Association, begins its 29th season with a pair of a cappella concerts directed by Michael Langham in Reno and Carson City.

The first concert, Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m., will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Ave., Reno. The program will be repeated on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the Brewery Arts Center Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King Street, Carson City.

'Walking lecture' on July 18 features history of Carson City trees

The Carson City Historical Society presents a free "walking lecture" on the "History of Trees in Carson City" on Thurday, July 18.

The presentation begins at the Carson City Library Auditorium, 900 N. Roop St., at 6:00 p.m. with a 20-30 minute slide show presentation about trees of our area by Kyle Horvath. Then, participants will drive over to the Capitol Ground for the rest of the lecture.

Carson City Symphony presents 'Movies and More' Artown Concert in Reno

Carson City Chamber Singers benefit for Sandy Hook tonight

The Carson City Symphony Association presents the Carson Chamber Singers in a pair of concerts dedicated to victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December. The first concert will be on Friday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 212 N. Division Street, Carson City. The second will be on Sunday, March 10, at 5:00 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Avenue, Reno. General admission is $10, free for youth age 16 and under.

Director of Carson Chamber Singers to retire

Judy Monson, founder and director of the Carson Chamber Singers since 1985, has announced her decision to retire in June 2012 after the Pops Party concert. A well known and loved educator, vocalist, and conductor in Carson City and Reno, Ms. Monson has led the Chamber Singers in inspiring performances in Carson City, Reno, Virginia City, Minden, Genoa, and Fallon.

Concerts on tap in Carson City

The Carson City Symphony will play Saturday April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Carson Community Center with a program of "Dances and Romances" featuring guest harpist Marina Roznitovsky. Sounds like a concert not to be missed.

Roznitovsky will join the symphony for Saint-Saens' Morceau de Concert for Harp and Orchestra. Conducting will be David Bugli. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors, students and Symphony Association members. Those 16 and under are admitted free.

The Carson Chamber Singers, directed by Judy Monson, will present "The Stars Above the Hill" on Saturday as its 25th season concert.
